Regular Chapter Meeting
Saturday, Apr 12th at 1:00 pm – Chapter meeting, educational program / demonstration and “Show & Tell” at Space #201 in the Valley West Mall* (Watch your email for the notification and newsletter.) Newcomers are welcome to attend!
 
We’ll also have our regular Show ‘n Tell where everyone is encouraged to show a recently turned item, big or small, finished or unfinished, and share your turning experience with the members. Because our chapter is made up of a wide variety of member skill levels, Show ‘n Tell will reflect those skill levels. Consider showing some of your work and tell us what you learned while making it.
 
Informal Networking Meeting
Wednesday, Apr 23rd, 9:00-11:30 am – Informal Networking Meeting at Valley West Mall*, (Watch your email for notifications). Newcomers are welcome to attend! Click HERE for Information Sheet.
 
Special Social Gathering
If there are social gatherings at the Valley West Mall* location,  they will be announced via a member email.

*Meetings are held at our Des Moines Woodturners space located at Valley West Mall, 1551 Valley West Drive in West Des Moines, Iowa. (We are in Space #201). Enter at the Southeast entrance on the upper level (south of JCPenney). See below photo:

 

Monthly events:

Upcoming Meetings, Special Events & Education Opportunities:

June 12-15, 2025: American Association of Woodturners 39th Intl Symposium in St Paul, MN.   Our club has secured an additional $40 discount on the registration fee if you register by April 11 and use the discount code AAW25GROUP at checkout.  With the discount, AAW member registration fee is $335 for all 3 days. Non-member registration is higher but it includes a one year membership to AAW. Banquet costs are in addition to your registration fee and can be individually added if you wish to attend them. If you have never attended one of these symposiums, you will be impressed with the demonstrations, trade show and the gallery. Click HERE for link to website.
